Thanks wouter, will try this out in a bit and let you know how I get on, but hopefully it does the trick and allows the discovery of certain types of UPNP devices through AIR :)

I just committed the following updates on github:

- you can now send broadcast packets on both iOS & Android (use 255.255.255.255 as ip address).
- you can specify a local port in the bind command, to specify network interfaces (optional)
- I renamed the extension initializer / finalizer functions to prevent collisions with other extensions.

I don't know about receiving broadcast packages. AIR on desktop cannot send broadcast messages, so I can't really test it that way. Will need to look at other ways to see if broadcast reception is working. Suggestions on github are always welcome!

Hi wouter,

thanks for your great work, but for using your ANE in projects, you really need to make it work with other ANE's. Right now it is not compatible with others in the same prohect e.g. the Network Info ANE by Adobe.

Is there any plan to add it in the future?

I'd second Greg's request for the UDP Multicast support - would really help with getting both Android and iOS tablets talking to living room devices.

Thanks, and keep up the great work!
